The Mary Potter Op-Shop
About The Mary Potter Hospice Foundation Op-Shop
Regardless of what you call them Op Shops, Opportunity Shops, Bargain Centres or Charity shops, they are all great places to pick-up a bargain and provide financial support to many charities.
Our Op-shop is an important community service that benefits a wide range of individuals: It supplies affordable clothing and other goods to those in need, provides the pleasure of giving to those donating goods, gives our volunteers a sense of purpose and acknowledgment in making a difference, and link a community of people.
Our opportunity shop generates much needed funds, helping to ensure the survival of the Mary Potter Hospice. It is managed by a rostered group of Volunteers who give great service in such tasks as sorting, cleaning and preparing goods for sale, pricing goods, stocking shelves and serving the public. Without these dedicated volunteers the shop could not operate.
The Mary Potter Foundation is the main fundraising body for the Mary Potter Hospice, a terminal care facility who cares for not only the patients, but their families and friends as well.
We do not receive government or church funding, and therefore are solely reliant on the generosity of the public for support.
The Mary Potter Hospice Foundation Op-Shop sells all types of bric a brac, books, adults and children’s clothes (Retro, traditional and after 5),hats, jewellery, linens, blankets, toys and new craft items.
We cannot however take furniture or Electrical items.
The shop is open from 10-3pm Monday to Friday, and is closed all public holidays and over the Christmas break.
The Op-Shop will be closed from Wednesday December 17th 2008 and will re-open Monday January 19th 2009.
