The Lighting of the Loving Tree

'Illuminated with Love'

The Mary Potter Hospice Loving Tree

The Loving Tree is a large Canadian Pine tree at the front of the Mary Potter Hospice. Every year, on the first Wednesday of December, over 1000 guests come together for a very special night.

Carols are sung accompanied by the angelic voices of the Adelaide Harmony Choir, and music is enjoyed thanks to the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Both groups volunteer their time to be a part of the Lighting of the Loving Tree.

The Loving tree has many lights, which friends and supporters 'sponsor' to raise much needed funds for the Mary Potter Hospice.

Lit by Love, each light on the tree signifies the life of those we remember and those who are unable to spend Christmas with us.

After the tree is lit, a soprano singer from the Harmony Choir poignantly sings Silent Night, giving a personal time of reflection for all whom attend.

It is a significant event in the Mary Potter Foundation calendar, and one that we hope you will consider sharing with us this year.

ETSA Utilities

The Mary Potter Foundation appreciates the support it has received from ETSA Utilities since it commenced sponsoring our 'Lighting of the Loving Tree' in 1999.

ETSA Utilities believes that community engagement extends beyond its efficient and reliable supply of electricity throughout the state. A key part of their community engagement is its support of community groups, events and programs that contribute to the quality of life for South Australians.

ETSA Utilities is pleased to sponsor the Mary Potter Foundation's Loving Tree, which serves as a memorial to loved ones who are unable to be with us at Christmas.
